There is an interesting article over on Errata security about misconception when trying to crack passwords. There’s some interesting stuff here, especially on those lame password strength meters that tell you if it’s good or weak.
Also, through one of the links , there is a list of the top ten most used passwords found in a leak of 32 million passwords from RockYou.com. Read them after the jump…
The data found that the most common passwords were:
1. 123456
2. 12345
3. 123456789
4. Password
5. iloveyou
6. princess
7. rockyou
8. 1234567
9. 12345678
10. abc123
I guess I will have to change my admin password on the Legend site!
